PILATES Matwork Group Classes

These small group classes (max 13 pupils) are friendly and personal with a relaxed atmosphere. You will learn to strengthen your whole body especially your core muscles, improve your balance and posture, stretch out stiff spines and all in a relaxed, calming atmosphere. Classes are 1 hr long and held at St Mary’s Community Hall in Sawston. In all classes regardless of description I give plenty of appropriate options for the exercises to keep you all suitably challenged but still safe. At present you will need to provide your own mat.

  • Mon 7pm - Intermediate/ Advanced Level Pilates St Mary’s Hall, Sawston

  • Mon 8.10pm Improver/Intermediate Level Pilates, St Mary’s Hall, Sawston

  • Wed 12.30pm All Level Pilates, St Mary’s Hall Sawston

  • Library of pre-recorded classes of varying lengths included to keep you moving between classes and just in case you have to miss a class.

 

Reformer Pilates Group Classes

These take place at our own Studio in Great Shelford. Max of 7 in each class. Reformer Pilates uses all the same principles and techniques as Matwork Pilates but adds spring resistance. The springs can be adjusted to tailor the exercise to just the right level for each person so reformer pilates is not necessarily harder or easier that matwork - just different. Having said that, we do tend to get a little bit sweatier in these classes!

PREGNANCY & POSTNATAL PILATES CLASS

Pilates can be a wonderful form of exercise for both preparing for birth and helping to recover after pregnancy. Strengthening up so that you are able to run around after those little people can be so helpful, satisfying and empowering. A well thought through Pilates programme can really aid recovery from Pelvic Girdle Pain, Diastasis Recti and Pelvic Floor Dysfunction. These classes are kept small so that everyone can get plenty of attention and also so that it is easier to make friends with the other Mums and Mums-to-be. Classes are 1hr long.

One to One Private Class

Whether you are at the start of your pilates journey, wanting to rehabilitate after an injury or looking for a challenging strength session, booking a private class at Maria’s fully equipped Pilates Studio is a brilliant investment in you and your body. Each session will be bespoke to your particular needs and goals. Booking a regular session will enable us to create a progressive bespoke pilates programme that can help you to reach your movement goals and will result in satisfying, discernible improvements. The reformer, split pedal chair, spring board and arc barrel are all fantastic pieces of large pilates equipment that use springs and/ or shaping to add resistance and/or support to your movement giving you both challenge and stability.
